| About: |  The World that Never Was, a place that once had a name but was forgotten, vampires live. The humans they prey upon live in fear of extinction while the vampire hunters find a way for the vampires to leave. Night-time is constantly over the world, because of the darkness shrouding the hearts of the people who inhabit it.
→ Humans; some vampires strive to be like them, to be able to have a normal existence. To be human means to not be hunted anymore. While other vampires see humans more as a meal ticket rather then an equal. Survival of the Fittest, after all.
→ Hunters; the brave and the bold, they focus on protecting the weaker humans. Some of the hunter’s main objective is to wipe out the vampires. Others are just trying to save the humans from dying. They are doing the right thing....aren't they? Doubt could cost a Hunter their life, maybe even more.
→ Vampires; they just want to feel. To not be judged by their damned existence. A war is torn between vampires; do you view yourself as an abomination, or a gift to society?
Which path shall you choose?
† Premise †
A long time ago, the family of Atrasado was trying to find a way to destroy the vampires that had shown up suddenly in the world. This was during the original creation of the hunters. They did strange experiments on family members and humans, and finally thought they found a way to destroy them, but all they ended up doing was killing more humans. The family was dying out, and they were desperate.
One hunter, charged with the mission to capture a vampire and not kill it, finally brought one in. They experimented to see if they could turn the vampire into a human. When introduced with the Atrasado family’s blood (when they fed the vampire), the vampire became very ill, and the family became worried that they had killed the only chance they had.
The vampire got better, however, over a long period of time. After about six months, the vampire appeared to have a stronger heart beat than before and in no need of human blood to survive. So they discovered that the Atrasado family's blood would, over time, changed vampires into humans.(or else that they suspected it did so, since they continued experimenting). The scientists of the family continued the experiments on the now human, wondering how their blood triggered the transformation.
One night, however, the subject escaped and attempted to make contact with other vampires. The hunters hired by the family found him and killed him swiftly, the subject never being able to contact one soul of the miracle that would happen to him. Had the secret of what the Atrasado family did gotten out, they would have no reason to be able to control the population like they were starting too.
So, by starting a rumor among the vampires, saying that there was a possibility of them turning human, more vampires came to the world, and the family began to control more humans by making them into hunters for their clan. They used the humans and vampires to better themselves and their family. Only the members of the family know the true secret, but are still left in the mystery as to why the vampire was able to change into a human. They say that the blood they carry is poisonous to vampires, and the vampires have never dared to drink from any hunter, being able to tell by scent of blood.
But this is only one of the many secrets this town withholds from its citizens. What other revelations does it embrace within the stillness of eternal dark and the hush of death? Only time may tell.
